On earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
The focus of heaven is God. All the created beings dwelling in heaven worship the Ever-existent One Who alone is worthy of glory, honor, and praise.
Whatever else heaven is, it is at the very least this, a place where God’s will is continually manifest through beings who live only to accomplish His desire. The beauty and majesty of God is adored there and God provides every need.
When we pray for the ways of the earth to echo the rhythm of heaven we are praying for a renewal of selflessness and a restoration of love and forgiveness to flow through the church as if from the very throne of God.
It is a prayer of God-focused unity in the body, where we worship God as one – as we will there. And where we refuse to judge our brother, and pride would no longer keep us from putting others first.
Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
